| MW013 Linear Movement - On The Screen LP |
|
Coming in December, MW will release On The Screen an LP from the Belgian band Linear Movement originally slated for release in 1983. Linear Movement is mastermind Peter Bonne (A Split-Second, Twilight Ritual, Autumn) joined by Peter Koutstaal, and Lieve Van Steerteghem on vocals for several tracks. Some tracks appear on the exquisite Pulse Music cassette while the rest are previously unreleased. Linear Movement was featured on V/A The Lost Tapes compilation LP with their highly acclaimed The Game, described as an "unstoppable pop song". Linear Movement have been called "a more primitive, cold wave Visage", and have been compared to the Human League. Peter differentiated LM from his other projects TR and Aut by the distinct sound of the compositions: they were poppier. For Peter, it was a boiling pot and learning curve towards his later work with A Split-Second.

| MW011 Graham Philip D'Ancey - The Sacred Project 12 |
|
Out now, a special 12" release by a UK artist named
Graham Philip D'Ancey. It's an all white EP called The Sacred Project.
The project consists of 4 tracks, all of which have been remastered and sound incredibly warm and full. The first track was originally released in 1981 as a 7" entitled Sacred Heart.
Aside from the single, Graham released several LPs in the early 80s, one called Alluma, a pure analogue synth soundtrack style LP. He also did a library LP called Chinese with some unusual instrumentation plus a couple of killer electronic cuts. Very interesting and worldly stuff.
The EP is white with a matte white printed cover, and limited to 500 numbered copies. Click here for image sample. Purchase it here. Great reviews here and here.

Iron Curtain were active in the early 80's, and released several singles under that name. They are most known for their track, "The Condos", which appeared on the Tarantula Scream 12" (1984). Later Steve went on to release a solo 7" under his own name.

A split 7" between Somnambulist and M. Bryo will be released in May. Other related bands from that era include: Absolute Body Control, The Klinik, OB Minimax, Quality-T and Vita Noctis.
All three tracks were created spontaneously; resulting in beautiful, minimal, analog synth recordings. Check for sound samples here. Thanks to Central Tapes (BE) for the initial impetus to release these.

| Nick Nicely Radio Interview |
Nick Nicely is one of the most intriguing, genre crossing musical figures to come out of the UK from the 80's. His music transcends time: touching upon psychedelic, wave, electronic, and pop.
MW tracked down a copy of the '83 interview, aired on the Spleen Radio show, done by Richard Zeilstra (responsible for the legendary Radionome Compilation lp, and the band Genetic Factor) with commentary by Ignit Van Kasteren (from the band Van Kaye & Ignit, and Spleen radio show host, as well as co-founder of Ding Dong Discs label).
Listen to the interview & sound clips here.
Read the transcript here.
Thanks to Jeroen for inspiration and help making this one possible.

| MW004 Sluik - Back To Burnsley (7'') |
Out now - the highly anticipated Sluik 7" has been released. The selected tracks were originally released on a compilation cassette called Hembrug (FITD 008) from 1981 on the Dutch Finger in the Dike Label, as well as having been previously self-released by Sluik. He says: "In those days (1981), I made 22 copies of Back to Burnsley for family and friends and I sent one to Mr. BBC John Peel, who played it 3 times in one week on English National Radio telling people to buy it... Unfortunately, I was already sold out!"
